OK, so the gays love their Madonna…but I also have a number of ladies I consider Divas (as in ‘Goddess’, an entertainer and force of nature) and Muses (as in Inspiring, thought provoking, feeding my spiritual side). Just to name a few: Janet (Miss Jackson if you’re Nasty) and Kylie (I Can’t Get Her Out Of My Head) are two of my favorite Divas. Joni Mitchell is definitely a Muse. Annie Lennox could actually fit either category to me. If you’re more cultured, Marianela Nunez of The Royal Ballet (London) is definitely a Diva Ballerina. The great African American Soprano Leontyne Price is a Diva. Then there’s Broadway Stars Patti Lupone, Audra McDonald, and crossover TV star Christine Baranski. The list could go on…
