The crypto economy has jumped back above the $2 trillion mark
after falling below that value in mid-January. Statistics indicate that
the USD value of all 12,440 coins across 544 crypto exchanges is worth
$2.08 trillion, up 5.2% during the last 24 hours.

It’s up 5.2% today but could be down 7% tomorrow. One of the requirements of money is that it be a stable store of value with respect to other major currencies. Most crypto does not meet this requirement. It is still an experiment. As a speculation it’s a different matter.
