I only thought there was one hadron collider with another being built to replace it. Now, someone said Germany has one more powerful than CERN.

I asked Google: Is Switzerland building another hadron collider?
Then I saw the question, how many hadrons are there?
Answer: a few hundred divided into two groups according to whether their spin is integer or half-integer.

But wait, it gets better: how many particle colliders exist in the world?

As for other hadron colliders …

Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS), CERN, used as a hadron collider 1981–1991.
Tevatron, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (Fermilab), in operation 1983–2011.
Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), Brookhaven National Laboratory, in operation since 2000.

So the question for Maria Zee and Dr. Astrid Stuckelberger is: Does it take a CERN hadron collider to open portals or can any of the few hundred or any of the 30,000 particle accelerators do that?
