Group Description
A group for men who train, or are attracted to, martial arts of all styles. A commitment to a style or system helps; and shared experiences are encouraged by men who have actually trained. But probably not for those who think out of shape guys rolling around on mat counts as ‘wrestling’.
MMA, Karate, Kung Fu, Taekwondo, Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, Hapkido, Krav Maga, Silat, MCMA, Kenpo (or) Kempo: all welcome, and more.

My experience has pretty much been wrestling in high school and a bit in college. I miss grappling and have started to investigate bjj places near me. Hoping to get started soon. Any suggestions in what to look for in a school?
-
Hi Sean. In my experience a good school builds you up slowly and does not throw you in at the deep end. Having said that, find out what your local people are saying.
Also, be wary of instructors that talk too much!

Thanks. I will definitely include online reviews in my consideration.
-
Nice. Are you a pure grappler or does striking/kicking martial arts appeal, too?
-
It’s going to be my pleasure to muscle you down and demonstrate my strength, skill and stamina first hand

Mostly a grappler. I’m into strikes but not so sure kicks. I’d need to see. Why you ask?
-
Just interests of mine, also. Getting a balance of skills is useful, I think.

Well yes. Good point and something to consider. Need to see what all it taught at the schools considered

Got into martial arts after watching a fight in high school between a guy that took martial arts and a jock boy. Watching how easily the martial arts kid controlled the jock was so impressive and erotic that I was hooked.
-
That element of physical superiority and control is, I agree, a major turn on. Martial arts men have skills and know how to use them; the best can play with the enemy before ending conflict.

Yep training makes a huge difference. At this point in my life, I don’t expect to be in a fight but more so want training for fitness purposes and to learn more advanced grappling technique than I got in HS and college on wrestling team. Also the idea of punching has an appeal as well. Seems liberating. Honestly the entire fight scene is erotic for me in various aspects
-
And martial arts is totally empowering and upskilling. Liberating? Hell yeah!
-
Yes I’m sure it is liberating. I can’t wait to get started

Great topic for a page! Long time karate/ kickboxing student. Been out of the game a few years but trained under a world champion for the time i was in it. to get back into it.
-
Great to hear, fella. Any good stories from your kickboxing life?

I’ve been drawn to combat sports since I remember. As a child, I would stare at tv whenever any kind of match came on. I did a bit of boxing as a kid, and now I’ve been training MMA for almost three years, and I’ve already had a couple of amateur fights. I’m generally quiet and shy, but when I’m training or I’m in the cage, ring or tatami, my personality changes, and I feel powerful, brave, and capable of doing or holding on anything. I also find it incredibly hot when two rock-hard manly bodies face-off and clash in every way, and the sexiest bodies I’ve ever met have been in this circle. The only downside is that being gay is frowned upon (even there are quite a few of us), so I must stay closeted here.

Great experiences Rubn. I started wrestling at age 12 then boxing a bit older. I agree, In main stream combat sports I also find the need to hide my full enjoyment from the competition. I’m grateful when I find a private match to fully explore what combat sports can provide.
