Probably a fairly typical thing for most of us who take fitness and exercise seriously. At some point we sustain an injury during our workouts or from various activities. Injuries can be painful (and serious in some cases). Mine is a deltoid issue caused from overtraining.

I think the key is to self evaluate (get input from a trainer) and seek the assistance of a physician if required. Doing great with my cardiovascular exercise and lower body. How many here care to comment on their own injuries and how they worked through them?

I’ve had a left shoulder that’s been giving me fits for a long time. I just kept pushing through the “slight irritation”, ignoring it could be serious. It finally got to the point where the pain was affecting my sleep and my lifting. I have an appointment set with a physical therapist, but I’ve also modified my workouts to minimize the use of my shoulders. It’s actually doing well and is at about 90% wholeness after 2 weeks of minimizing the use.

A prudent approach. I appreciate the input and glad you shared your own experience. Thanks very much, Mike!

Been into fitness for some good years…may be when i was 12-13 yrs old. Was into combat sports since then. Cracked few bones sometimes, but patience and self beliefs are the biggest saviors! but they do not substitute for a good Doc/Physio….Do consult them. And get back with a bang!
