Bio

I originally joined RJ during 2013 using the name, “IgnatiusReilly,” who was the main character in the novel, “A Confederacy of Dunces,” authored by John Kennedy Toole.  It is a satirical novel about New Orleans and its society.  The characters are misfits, that is if they lived elsewhere, but they fit in with the quirkyness that is New Orleans.  This novel is one of my favorites.  I am from New Orleans and I appreciate anything New Orleans.  Sazerac, my new choice for a name, and for the few who are unfamiliar with this name, is a local variation of a cognac or whiskey cocktail originally from New Orleans, named for the Sazerac de Forge et Fils brand of cognac.   We’re all about good eats and drinks.  More of us should be on this site!!

I became hooked on exercise about 20 years ago using it as a distraction from the pressures of graduate school and living in general.  This past 1.5 years disrupted my exercise routine and now I am in a catch-up mode to return physically where I was before COVID threw me a curve ball.

RJ has introduced me to two good friends who are on this site.  Initially our conversations revolved around fitness and exercise routines, and as we found that we had more in common, friendships developed and I hope that trend continues for me.  That is why I returned to RJ, although I am not thrilled that I have to re-establish a profile.

I am considerate, a good listener, quiet and introverted; I began playing the piano when I was 8, enjoy cooking, and gardening.  My favorite forms of exercise are weights, aerobics (treadmill or elyptical), and planks.  I have been a faithful member of the Y for many years.

Say hello, I’m a friendly guy, really!
