Except that Delta was already identified in India when cases there were surging (despite hundreds of millions of doses of HCQ used both as a prophylactic and for treatment). At a time when few in India were vaccinated and no one knew how well the vaccines would work against this variant.

Just as new variants of concern have already been identified – as per the article you just posted above (but probably didn’t actually read and obviously didn’t understand).

Furthermore, if “vaccine efficacy [is] waning”, how do you explain that the majority of the cases are in unvaccinated people as are nearly all severe cases and deaths?
