Years ago, I thought of “health and fitness” was about a diligent exercise program and good nutrition. Important components, certainly, but there is so much more. Hosting our fitness podcast program, “Spirit of Fitness” for 8 seasons has been eye opening with many of our guests. I remember a program in season #2 on “Mental Illness” and our guess corrected my perception of mental illness and the critical role it plays with many folks. The reality is, balance is so important in life. A good mindset, a positive attitude and a variety of interests to keep us that way.
We all can feel anxious and challenged at times, I think how we deal with those issues that can yield happiness. If you don’t like something about your life, change it (and if you have problems with that, seek help to do so). We all have problems, reaching out certainly isn’t embarrassing, a good long term perspective on life is far more important.
So when you go to the gym and start your workout, are you mentally prepared for it. Have you set aside the problems of the day. Can you do that? So many things to improve in life. I look forward to much more.
