What are your thoughts on professional matchmaking services? Do any of you have any experience with them or know anyone who has?
I’m thinking this may be my next step when it comes to dating. Unfortunately, my generation really only meets people through these shitty dating apps or through a friend. The days of “going out and meeting someone” seem to be over. Especially in the gay world and for me, considering I don’t have any gay friends.

Hi Ant, I think it might be worthwhile particularly for you. Many of the the men are professional, and are seeking people like that. You look like this, and you are handsome. I can’t make guarantees on your experience with it. Of course, it is not free. I tried it years ago, so I don’t know what it is like now. These are the types of men that were “matches” and replied to my profile at the time. I didn’t find a friend or relationship because they were not good matches, so forth. I think is worth a try for you. Good luck if you try it.

I tried it when I lived in NYC before 2009.
There were two activities: 1) one-on-one dates and 2) dinner with six members.Second, maybe there are events at the Center in Manhattan on 13th Street? Maybe a gay-friendly church that offers lunch after church service? Since I moved to the Dallas area, one change that has happened is that a United Methodist Church now has a gay-friendly group.
