Meet RealJock's first member—Talljockboy
Imagine this: You come across this web site you've never heard of called "RealJock.com". It looks interesting enough, so you join... and it's empty. Literally empty, except for a couple of profiles of the geeks who run the joint. So what do you do next? You leave of course.

That's what happened with Gord, aka Talljockboy, when he joined RealJock at the end of January. We sent him an email welcoming him through our mail system, but didn't hear back for a couple of months, until he logged back in again and wrote back to us. Since then we're glad to see Talljockboy has become one of our most hot-listed members, which isn't surprising given his great pics. He also verified his profile, so you know his photos are real. Check out our brief interview with him below:

Are you single, dating or in a relationship?
I'm in a relationship.

What do you do for work/school?
I own and run gordongroup, a company that does interior design, project management and event planning.

What sports or fitness activities do you currently participate in?
Besides going to the gym, I've enjoyed running in several 10km and 5km races this summer. I play volleyball occasionally and have taken up flying trapeze at circus school.

Describe a typical training week for yourself.
When I'm really committed I'm at the gym up to six times a week for an hour and a half. But I'm probably more consistently there three times a week and doing a combination of cardio and weights.

When did you first start participating in sports?
I started swimming competitively around 12 years old.

What is your highest level of achievement in sports and/or fitness?
I swam and coached throughout high school and the start of university. I retired from competitive swimming at about 21 years old (swimmers retire early). I swam masters in Sydney Australia for a year, which was a great experience.

Did you experience any homophobia playing sports in your childhood? As an adult?
I haven't ever experienced any homophobia in my face. There may have been a few comments behind my back but it seems that I've had enough strong supporters among my teammates that don't let those comments go too far.

What do you want to do next in terms of athletic achievement?
I'm pretty happy with my body at the moment and so going to the gym has become a stress release more than anything. It has also become a great way to spend time with my partner.

[One goal I had for] 2006 was to live and experience more. I've started with flying trapeze and look forward to adding something new in the fall. Toronto has a great water polo team called the TriggerFish that has sparked my interest.

Describe the kind of guys you'd like to meet on RealJock?
I've made some great connections with guys on RealJock already. I've had some great workout discussions and I've met some young guys who I've been able to coach both in terms of the gym and sports as well as getting comfortable in the gay scene. Also getting great compliments has been awesome. So for the future bring on more of what I've already had!

What's the one place on earth you haven't visited that you want to go to in your lifetime?
Just one? I think that Africa is underreported in the media and I'd love to see first-hand what is really happening there from the rampage of HIV/AIDS to civil war and poverty.

I don't think that he was "hand picked". If he was so, what. It just shows that this site is growing. Congrats David, and I will see you at the gym.
