Do lay awake at night unable to sleep because you fear how sustainable eating grouper is?
Do the pleasures of life seem to belong to someone else because you wonder about ethical salmon farming practices?
Can you no longer make love because you your mind is filled with the dancing specter of prawn?

Well, then you are probably crazy. But if you do wonder about better ecological choices when selecting fish check out this site: Eco-Friendly Seafood Selector.

It tells you what the least friendly choices are, such as imported shrimp, farmed Salmon, or cod.
It tells you what some alright choices are, such as wild clams, yellowtail, or canned albacore tuna.
And it tell you what the best choices are, such as mackerel, catfish, or the mullet fish (mullet fish?).

enjoy

Ha! I knew that the pale anemic Atlantic salmon was crap! People have been making fun of me since I've moved to Chicago from Seattle because I turn my nose up at anything that isn't a wild caught Alaskan thats bright red and dripping with omega-3s.

And in all seriousness, this is an awesome thread. thanks for posting it.

Thanx a MILION for posting this! I'm trying to find the european version of this list (but so far I cut off so many seafood that I'm unsure of the "friendliness" of its capture...).

For my European friends on here I wasn't able to find a comprehensive list, but I was able to find a super-cute muppet called Stinky Fish to help you guys make choices.

Check him out. He is adorable.

*edit*

OH! I was able to find something (I am home sick in bed so I have a lot of free time today).

Here it is
