Any opinions on the outdoor game New Year's Day?

Aside from the outcome, I thought it was a great game, great for the city of Buffalo and hopefully did well in the ratings (if that's possible).

I thought it was awesome. You could tell that the players were totally into it. It had a "big sports event" feel to it. Sid the Kid does it again.
I just wish they could do it in more cities. They could put 106,000 people in Ohio Stadium here in Columbus but the weather would be too iffy.

I thought it was a total blast, I wish they would do more stuff like that to promote the sport. I think kids would much rather watch an awesome outdoor hockey game than a boring parade!

I thought it was totally awsome. Great that they did it and hope they do them each year. Great way to enjoy hockey--the way it was meant to be played.

As far as the TV ratings go, have a look at this story.

Great stuff.

Yeah, I thought it was great across the board. I'm just pissed I had class when the tickets went on sale and wasn't there in person to see a piece of hockey history.

Anyway, now it's up to the NHL to make the All-Star game a TV success... and then the Playoffs, especially the Finals. It's really sad how such a great sport doesn't get the same attention in the States as it does in Canada.
