Howdy,

Michael Pollan is a wonderful columnist for the New York Times writing about food, government food policy, and ethical agriculture. You might remember him as the author of last year's The Omnivores Dilemma.

Well, the man has a new book coming out next month called In Defense of Food. In TOD he laid out what is wrong with the food industry, everyone from big agro to organics. In this book, he says, he lays out what we should do about it.

You can read the introduction at his web site

He complains about Nutritionists and the overly scientific approach to food. That argument is fine and dandy for regular folks, but for we meat-heads something best left ignored. Still, he is an awesome author and can make a topic like farm subsidies really compelling.

enjoy

(Forget Oprah, I am going to start my own book club!)
