I play 7 (halfback/scrum-half) although I'm slightly bigger than perhaps the position demands. I love my position because I have to be quick, and I love feeding off the first receive and kicking. I'm hoping to be selected as vice-captain next season.

You?

Lately I've been playing bottom. I'm a good size for it and I've been enjoying it lately. During off season, if I'm bulked up, I mostly top and/or receive oral.

I play hockey once and awhile. I'm a center. I like that I don't have to be stuck with one job (defense, wingman, etc.), and can play the entire rink.

DAMN, SoCalCollegeStdt beat me to it...

WTF - I am a true Iron Man ( playing both offense and defense), who enjoys pitching and catching.

My favorite thing about being versatile?

Has always doubled my chances of getting some...

Rugby, outside center

I like that I can be more into the action than a wing. less into getting beat up than a forward. I also like the feeling of sprinting and being able to shift into that extra gear you sometimes get when your being chased.

Hockey - Left/Right Wing

Just starting so it gives an inexperienced skater who hasn't mastered backwards skating yet the chance to contribute by scoring goals and creating assists. Unlike defense it doesn't expose my lack of backward skating finese

Soccer - Midfield

Like being able to control play, the constant running gets the heart racing.

2nd choice in soccer is being the stopper on defense. Feel like I'm controling the defense. Also able to understand and control the flow of the game better than in any other position

I play water polo... and my position is - yes, this is a legitimate position - holecheck!

Gotta love a game where guys grope each other in the water, wearing only a speedo.

Since this is the rugby forum, I'll answer with rugby positions. ;-)

I'm currently inside center (#12, I play league). I like it because it seems to be the make-or-break spot in the backline.

For the past two seasons I was fly-half, inside center for a season before that, and my first season I was flanker, which is the best position to learn the game if you're a newbie.

I prefer left-side sofa, which is my chaise. So very comfy. Great for cuddling up and watching gymnastics with my dog curled at my side, but sometimes I go for middle-sofa. Which is a great place to eat my dinner on a TV tray. Great for edge-of my seat entertainment like playing Xbox.

Well I am a Rugby League player, so my positions and what they do are a bit different from you union boys. I have played all over the field and have to say the one i love the most would have to be right centre (league there isnt an inside or outside).
Centre lets me run my angles from my second rower inside me but it also means that it is just my responsiblity for the line on my side of the pitch. I have my second rower inside me and my winger outside me. I know where they are they know where i am and so we man off and no one gets through my line. love the position.

I play 8-man, a position I feel like I have yet to grow into. Coach gave me that place all year in '07, and he's a fickle guy, so maybe I'm okay....

I'm definitely a back-rower, though: I love chasing the ball. I always considered the flanker position as being related to being some kind of dog (labrador retriever?) who loves playing fetch. I hate running, but if there's a rugby ball involved, I'll definitely give chase.

I didn't grow up playing rugby so not too familiar with it. Started playing a couple years ago and love the physicality of it and the history. I played wing mostly.

#11 - wing. i am not sure i would be real good at any other position...my speed and ability to keep the ball inbounds is what i do best i guess.

I play outside center and love initiating plays. Here in Afghanistan, I've played a lot of touch rugby (rocky soil) with some Kiwis from New Zealand and it's been great cutting from a lateral on the drop of a dime and getting through tight holes past the Kiwis, untouched. Now I can't wait to get back to the States and resume tackle rugby after a 6 year hiatus.

But my most favorite part of the game is rucking.

GIVE BLOOD. PLAY RUGBY

I started playing as a wing #14. I moved in to outside center and then inside center. I loved playing inside center that was where all the action was. Getting tackled, tackling and lots of ball. Two years ago our club was low on people so i got stuck as fullback. I got possibly the best compliment of my rugby playing life. One of our forwards said he didn't mind missing a tackle because he knew I'd get him. Didn't like fullback that much. If you missed a tackle that's it they get a try. They want me there again but those full on open field hits suck. I'll probably do it anyhow but I still love inside center.

I play 2nd or 3rd row, what I like the most of playing as 2nd row is the responsibility in the scrum and line outs which is my speciality.
Also the option of being chosen as a fast and indurant 2nd row or a tough strong 3rd row, I have that versatility. Also the fact of being a great weapon of possesion and recovering the ball, from stealing from a line out to stealing in a ruck or even interseptions

I played 7 (strong-side flanker), and was first jumper in lineouts. I loved it. You pretty much just get to be like a dog and chase the ball all game.

I think I'm done with team sports for now. Rugby is an amazing community, especially gay rugby, but team sports just don't give me what I need.

I usually play 2nd row and I'm usually used as the Jumper since I'm tall and have long arms. Up here in Alaska we are nearing the the begining of Rugby Season and I've gotten a few guys interested in playing. I myself and a newbie since I only started playing last year.

I still have alot to learn but it's so much fun.

Flanker. I like it because you get to be in the heart of the action!

I play Wing. Love to put on size and move up but for now I'll wait until the ball gets down to me and run run run until someone gets in my way that I can't run around.
