For the crew boys out there and for anyone who has ever wondered what it looks like up close (particularly from the cox's point of view), this is an AWESOME video I just stumbled onto:

Nice vid. Watching it I was suddenly transported back into the shell, remembering spring sprints in my college days. My heart is still racing, and my legs feel all hot and tight all of a sudden. Heh. Pavlov's Dog?

Loved it!

Dear oh dear. I remember this and miss it a lot, actually. Great video.

I've been erging again recently and getting really into it. I've even got some new blisters...

But it seems to scare the other people when I erg at the gym. Suckers.

Heheh - I've had that experience! You start really cranking on the wheel and it sounds like a small Cessna starting to take off? LOL.

I rewatched the video and was struck again by how I started frothing at the mouth when the stroke started looking out of the boat. I would have killed him on the spot if I'd been the coxswain!

Ditto to scaring people while on the erg. Everybody else seems to be enjoying themselves while they erg, and then the rowers show up and have to be all crazy.

Awesome video, brings back memories. Having both rowed (in baby blue lycra, LOL! ; actually, ) and coxed (when the need arose) at uni, I can honestly say they've given me some of my most amazing and most terrifying experiences ever! I can never decide whether I want to get back in a boat again, though I keep up my training on the erg. I'm tempted by the gay games...
