I highly doubt this is accurate. By what measure are they speaking. I mean, the most populous of countries aren't even on here. Not only that, but most of those countries have high numbers of prostitutes. Somebody is paying for sex with them! I guess China, India, and Russia aren't considered major countries? Also, no American would admit to this as easily as people in other countries. I'm sure we're higher than number 6.

You forgot to include the caveat (*) that this ranking only covered OECD member states, thus precluding later mentioned countries, such as China, India, and Russia.

However, that pales to the error of not including Finland in the ranking, which scored higher than the UK (51 versus 40); Finland is an OECD member and should have been in the list.

On the basis of the article, the survey sounds questionable. 14,000 respondents over 48 countries means that the average country had less than 300 respondents; I wonder how they made sure they were statistically representative.

To me, it seems the Times Online wanted to spice up Britain's imagine. They'd do much better job if they simply focused on our resident, saucy, red-haired RJ'er
