Anyone else keeping track of this tournament? Sadly I haven't been able to catch any of it because apparently people in Michigan don't like tennis enough to have them show it here.
But yeah, I was checking out Pacic Life's website for scores and noticed that Roger Federer lost! I almost feel bad for the guy but at the same time it is going to be nice to see someone else win for once.
Any thoughts on who has the best chance now that Federer is out of the way?
I would love to go and watch the tourny in person. I'm hoping within the next 2 years or so I'll be able to make it there.
I'm hoping Roddick wins mostly because I think he needs this more than anybody. Sure, he has been playing well but he hasn't won a tourny since the one leading up to the U.S. Open. I think Gasquet will give him some trouble but I'm hoping he will pull through this time. If not, I'm rooting for Djokovic just because I think he still has something to prove in terms of beating multiple high seeded players to win a tourny.
As for Blake, he lost again today! It seems to me he is spinning out of control. I hope last year wasn't a fluke and he gets his game back together.
I'm on the East Coast, so I hit up Indy and the US Open ... Palm Springs is too far to travel.
Blake had a horrible loss today, but he's always been a hot and cold player. Outside of Melbourne, he's had 2 tourney finals and 3 early round losses. It sounds about par for him, although it's pretty sad for a Top 10 player.
Personally ... I despise Roddick with a passion. I'd rather see someone with a classic game like Gasquet get to the finals than the petulant caveman Roddick. What can I say ... I'm a HATER!
