I went to school, got my Bachelor's in Psychology, and I've pretty much been kicking tires since. I'm a realtor, but I don't really like it. I work to get by, but I'm not really fulfilled with what I'm doing. That's why I elected to take a day off to catch up on school stuff since I've been sick this weekend. I'm not someone who is highly money driven...I have everything I need, and then some. My philosophy is that if it works, there's no need to buy a new one...of anything...

I had a lot happen these past several years, and now I'm back in school pursuing counseling certification with the goal of getting my GPA up a little, getting a bright and shining score on the GREs and going on to grad school to become a licensed counselor specializing in addictions, or crisis intervention.

I say find out what motivates you and take that route, and learn from other people's mistakes.

Spent years working in finance on Wall Street. Good money, but I had no connection with what i was doing. It was just a job.

Took a few years off (had no debts and no major financial responsibilities). Went back to school for landscape architecture and have been doing that for the last 18 years.

In 1989, I had to find a job in college when my family hit financial hard times. It was a party planning/balloon decorating company.

I then had to drop out of college, but really liked what I was doing. It gave me the creative outlet I was looking for.

I soon became the manager of the company and we expanded to graphic design as well.

Well, in 2007, after working there for 19 years, I bought the company! It's my baby and I love it.

I worked in retail management for about three years and then started working in corporate finance for a big bank. For a good six months, I had thought about dropping all of it into becoming a firefighter. So I up and quit my job and made the decision to become a firefighter but not before finishing my master's program first. I kinda had this idea that it was time to start changing lives instead of just living my own...but I knew that I still needed something to fall back on just incase things didn't workout out with becoming a firefighter. I think people get caught up in a career and fail to really think about if it's in their heart or not. I say if there's something you're feeling, go for it...but always have a back up plan.

I went the engineering route: chemical engineering for undergrad, worked for a big chemcial company for two years (hard hat, steel toe boot and safety glasses) and then decided to quit and go to grad school in a different field, nuclear engineering. Got a Masters and then a PhD. I graduated last year and since then I've been working as a forensic engineer, basically doing accident reconstruction and fire and explosion investigations.

My other job (passion) is acting, also very time consuming but very satisfying.

Anybody with some contacts in showbusiness?

Worked as an aviation contractor for 4 years after high school and departed from that track after seeing the true nature of the industry and getting tired of dealing with the post 9/11 bullshit.

Functioned as a field biologist for Clarke mosquito control and carryied out contractual duties for the Seminole Tribes of Florida for two years before moving up to Orlando and splitting my time between that job and an IT startup with a friend.

After the IT biz failed I applied for a position at a motorcycle dealership transporting motorcycles and eventually worked my way into a technical position within the service department as a mechanic. I've been working for Yamaha and Kawasaki for three years now.

I'm just about to make yet another career move. I've had three jobs in a year and a half...I feel like I'm either shooting up a ladder or playing chess. Fresh out of grad school, I got started doing recruitment and curriculum development for a grant-funded education program. A year later I was bored, so when my boss' boss offered me a promotion to coordinate recruitment/retention for his grant, I jumped. Now, eight months later, that grant is going away, so I've taken an assistant director position in charge of enrollment and student relations for the College of Science at a smallish university. Apparently, career ennui and boredom aren't destined to a part of my life.

If you are looking for a growing field, look into "Networking" or systems administration in the Unix midrange field. Both pay very well, are in demand, and has a growth factor. Six figures is not out of line to top flight associates, based on performance And, it is mostly common sense, and no you don't have to be a rocket scientist to do it.

I graduated in 2006 with a Degree in Bachelor of Sciences with my major in Urban and Regional Planning.

Took me a while to get a job. I ended up staying in LA due to meeting my boyfriend (was gonna move back to San Francisco right after graduating) about 3 months before graduating.

I had to get some sort of job so I got a job as a host at a restaurant. I stayed there about 8 months till I found an internship at an architecture firm. About 4-5 months earlier I applied for a job with the CIty of Los Angeles. 2.5 months into my internship I got an offer for the job with the City.

Now working as a Planning Assistant/Zoning Investigator!

Government job definitely has great perks and benefits!

Prostitution.

I hate that question because it is one of the first asked and so judgemental. I save it until I know someone a little better. A little sensitive because i was once dumped by someone 10yrs ago because of my career. One of the few times in my life I was made to feel inadequate.

Well look at you....just goes to show you that everything that happens to you and everyone that comes in contact with you will in some way help shape you into the studmuffin you will later become...

And you are a studmuffin.
