Judging by the lack of posts in this forum, I'm guessing not a lot of you are watching the US Open. But I just have to post this anyway.
Julie Coin (ranked 188th) beat Ana Ivanovic (top seed) yesterday in one hell of a match. Admittedly, Ivanovic was not in top form, but a lot of the shots the frenchwoman was hitting were absolutely amazing. She has a ridiculous first serve and phenominal accuracy when hitting balls she's had to chase down.
This tournament's been full of great matches, and the constant coverage has been the only thing keeping me sane at work these past few days. This match just made my day though.
Yep, it was a tough 3 setter. But in actuality she is one of the weaker number 1's the tour has had. The Williams could meet in the quarters. So, I would like to see Venus win the whole thing. On the men's side will it be Fed and Nadal AGAIN? Hopefully Fed can pull another win out of his hat.
