Yes. I live right on Broadway so it's easy to sit in my front yard and watch. I thought there were too many gaps of nothing happening and the 3 downpours during the parade didn't help either. I didn't think there were as many WOW floats this year. But even so, I had fun and loved it all. Pride is always an invigorating day in Boystown.

I thought it was boatloads of fun for my first time... I was stationed near steamworks and the parade route was just packed!

The parade came to a standstill as the first downpour was coming down... supposedly someone fell of a float and broke a leg. Hope they're ok.

The highlight for me was the hot guys on the minibar and hydrate floats... ! Wow!

One funny thing that happen to me was that I was standing next to the railing and turnaround for a second to see who was grabbing me from behind when all of the sudden a beaded necklace landed on my head and slid down to my neck... kind of like a ring toss game at the carnival... lol

I think they had waaay too many floats this year (230!) but despite the gaps between the floats, I had a good time enjoying the energy of the parade walkers and the crowd.

Yes, minibar's float was delicious.

Of course, any float with buff, shirtless men grabbed my attention yesterday.

Maybe RealJock can have a float next year!

About the gap ... a dancer fell off a float and broke her leg - hence the gap.

muchmorethanmuscle - it was boring for you because you didn't look me up. I'm more fun than any ride at Six Flags!

I had a blast! I got TONS of numbers and caused some trouble.

There wasn't just one gap, SoDakGuy, there were quite a few gaps in which it took 5-10 minutes for the next float to arrive (and in the rain, 5 to 10 minutes felt like a long time).

I found a really good photostream of the parade here:

That was the BIG one. I preferred the incorrect version for the big gap.

Dancer got ran over by a parade float. I like that one SO much better! LOL!!

It was a fun filled and sometimes drama filled weekend and I wasn't the cause of ANY drama. That was AWESOME!

Yeah, the newspaper said the incident delayed the parade by half an hour.

I'm just glad the dancer will be okay and that the sun got to come out a few times during the parade.

I still get choked up seeing PFLAG march in the parade! I love seeing Moms and Dads and straight friends supporting their family and friends.

I hope to get some pics back from the weekend!

Speaking of family, I snapped a photo of this one:

Warms my heart to see that.

That's sweet!

I was right across the street from the Jewel Osco. I was a bit tanked watching. I think EVERYONE was a bit tanked watching on Sunday.

Next year I'd like to go to toronto.
There was no excuse for the thing to be delayed for more than a half hour if only one person fell and got a broken leg. I mean geez, what would they have done if there was a real emergency?

It was a hoot. I got a good view of the parade from a balcony across from Sidetrack. There was plenty of eye candy both in the parade and watching it.

I was in Chicago for another reason and lucked into being there for Pride... so glad I was!

This was my first pride parade and I have to say that after the first 3 hours I was ready for the parade to be over... but it was still fun.

A lot of people thought that with the exception of a couple of floats, the parade was pretty tame... not much for the far Christian Right to photograph and claim as the debauchery of mankind...

I actually found that rather refreshing. It was like a big celebration of people & fun rather than a big celebration of fake boobies, muscle, and dildos.

Though I did not mind standing by the Mini-bar boys during the parade breakdown when the rains came and it turned into a wet undies party. :-D

I too thought the PFLAG folks were awesome.

I was way impressed with the sheer number of people out on the streets. It was a blast.
