K after watching for the past three weeks and seeing these dancers and the routines that they have to perform, I CAN'T HOLD BACK! I must open discussion of this show.

Mia Michaels is brilliant!!!

My fave dancers so far have been:
First the boys: Marquis (voted off), Gev, Joshua, Mark, Will, and Twitch
Now the girls: Comfort, Katee, Courtney, and Chelsie

All of the dancers have been awesome this year. Mark is weirdly cute and great as a performer.

I'm loving this show!!!!!!

and that routine from last night with the mostly Asian B-boy group was INSANE!

K, i'll turn the flame down a bit now and let you guys talk.

Woo Hoo!! I'm not the only one! It felt so lonely for awhile.

I love the fourth season... I don't want any of them to leave. But as with The Immortals in Highlander, "there can be only one".

I am completely addicted to this show...seriously. I watch in awe at the talent, and I love the host, Cat, and the judges are really constructive and respectful, not mean-spirited, and they know their shit. I couldn't even begin to pick a favorite cuz they all have amazing talent. If you enjoy well choreographed dancing, you don't want to miss this show. It's not like "Dancing With The Stars" where they pair an amateur with a pro...these are all pros, and some of the moves are truly mind-boggling.

Yes, it's way better than Dancing with the Stars, which seems way too full of hype, cuteness, and bullshit like re-igniting "celebrity" careers. Yech!

These kids gotta work, and they are strong and talented.

The "Bleeding Love" routine that Tabitha and Napoleon choreographed was great this week, and I loved their "No Air" routine too. Not as good as the Mia Michaels stuff, but I can tell they're vying for that Emmy.

If you have a broadband Internet connection, you can download the show with BitTorrent. BT is open source, and there are clients for all computing platforms. For Windows, I recommend uTorrent. As for tracking sites, I always start my torrent searches on mininova:

I love the show! I think Twitch is awesome! It'll be interesting to see Comfort and Thayne dance together this week since they're the first to lose their partners. I personally think Matt and Thayne are the cutest guys on there, but as dancers, I think Twitch and Joshua are the best!

I'm so glad you started this thread Auryn. I LOVE this show!

I agree, Mia Michaels makes some of the BEST choreography on the show.

I love the show, but so far this season has under whelmed me...
I'm over Will, though I like him. They have praised him since he walked out of Debbie Allen Dance Academy and on to the dance floor - praising to the point that they should just call the show "We Think Will Should Win"

...and is it fair that some one who has studied multiple forms of dance at a renowned academy (much less owned and instructed by a show judge), be allowed to compete in what (I thought) was an amateur contest.

And b4 ya jump my S%*^, I do know most of these guys have trained in dance, but most only in one genre and others only on free form (street dancing)

So how's that for a lil' analysis and controversy in cereal?

For a cow who makes people flop and twitch... and who lied HEAVILY on her "professional" resume. Can't stand her and she is one of the main reasons I think that SYTYCD is a detriment to the world of dance.

Every major city has a ballet company, and many have true contemporary companies who deserve far more acclaim than this glorified game show, and sadly those companies have to struggle to make ends meet. Another lovely representation of the dumbing down of the American public.

ok - so mia michaels DOES choreograph some pretty cool stuff - however, i have to wonder how the dancers can see exactly what her body is doing under all those voluminous layers of clothing she wears when she's teaching.

my main beef also lies with ms. michaels and her pretentious, squinty-eyed, 'organic' speak. it's so cliche and imho, makes her sound arrogant and less smart than i think she is.

there. i'm done. oh wait, i forgot how much i enjoy the oddly bedentured nigel.

Totally agree with you bodywork4.

Will is a good dancer but he's not the most energetic. I have him on my list because he's good and I love Debbie Allen. I can't deny that he knows how to move and excute the routines with ease. However, he has yet to get on the Hot Tamale train, no matter how much the judges speak highly of him. He's not done anything that surprises them and I'm glad they talked about his and his partners mistakes on the last show.

He's not flawless. If anyone of the judges will rip into him, it'll be Mia. She has been brutal this year.

so this show is the SHIT!

as far as favorites go twitchington and kajosh all the way! consistenly brilliant performances, especially from the latter. the rest of the ,i could care less. some have good moments but nothing astounding.

michaels is PHENOMENAL. everything she does is intricate, unique, hard-hitting, and moving. i always "feel" something. whichever couple is paired with her is automatically catapulted to "best dance of the night" status. the bed routine and the running from last night!?! don't get me started.

and mary needs to shut up, i swear she almost shatters my windows every time she screams, good criticism though.

I agree with Paul. And I went to sleep last night dreaming about Gev. He gets cuter every episode.

On another note, I watch way too much reality TV.

The show is so much fun, and the dancing pretty much is as good as it gets. I don't mind Mary so much. It's kind of who she is and her criticism is always respectful and usually spot on.

I don't mind the screaming, either. I did hate the way Courtney and Gev's hip hop routine was criticized the other night, though. Gev was funky and Courtney danced like a cheerleader. The judges didn't get it. I'm glad Gev got a chance to do a solo to prove them wrong.

I can't watch that show anymore. Mary seriously gives me nightmares. I just see those giant teeth and her scary paralyzed face looming at me as she screeches and cackles at 280 decibels. Though I will say she can be critical and nice at the same time.

Is it just me, or has Mandy Moore's choreography been a tad lackluster this season? i haven't exactly been wow-ed, like i was last season.

chelsea T & thayne's jazz routine from episode 2, i was sitting scratching my head saying, "that was it? the choreography was...bland"

the routine from this week was a tad better, but it just seems like Mandy wasn't up to snuff.

thoughts?

Hmm How did she lie on her "professional" resume. That would be interesting to learn about.

And yes, I think SYTYCD has it's pros and cons, but the cons are always overlooked. Thanks for putting the one of those cons out there.

I must say that I wasn't that impressed with the past week's performances, but Comfort looked beautiful whilst flying around during that smooth waltz. Mark is officially my favorite. I like the way he performs his characters and he's soooooooo cute!!

I am really getting bored with the show. I really liked Matt and am actually pissed he is gone now. The judges had it out for him from the beginning and it was annoying. I really hope this season gets better.
I am tired of Twitch, Joshua, and Will, it seems no matter what happens they can't do any wrong.

Nigel is the most annoying judge this season to me, he is being rude and just on everyones nerves. Telling the audience to just leave and not come back is not a good thing when they are the reason you have a show.

Mia Michaels has been over used this year. Normally we saw something once every couple weeks, but 2 this past week is too much. I am bored of her and really not liking her routines as much now.

I do like Mark, and Gev. His solo this week was amazing.

On another note, am I the only one thinking Cat is pregnant on there? Her clothing is different and they are only doing head shots it seems on her, and she is always facing the cam. When you see her from the side she looks like she has a baby bump.

Joshua hasn't done anything wrong. That's probably why they like him. Will has been told to get a personality, and Twitch was criticized for his lackluste cape swirling on the last episode.

Meh, Comfort is gone. I can't say I didn't see it coming, but still I liked her. I'm glad she had a good attitude about not making the top ten. Hopefully, she'll learn how to partner better as her career continues.

I'll miss Thayne's ass. He could squeeze change out of a penny.

I totally agree about Mia. I think her stuff is crap. They call it contemporary but it's not. I dance for a contemporary and if I had to do her stuff I would be miserable. The only I enjoy Mia is when she is on the judging panel. She is the only one who will tell someone "Your foot wasn't pointed all the way. You didn't extended through legs and blah blah blah."

I will say I enjoy the show, but it does annoy. I think it should be called "So You Think You Have Personality." Cause that's what people vote on. In my opinion, I think Matt was the best, but because he wasn't all smile like Thayne (who needs to be punched in the face) he got the boot.

Comfort is a joke. I'm glad she's gone. And as for Will studying different styles of dance...anyone who comes from a dance studio will most likely have studied ballet, jazz, modern, tap, and whatever else. Yes the break dancers have only ever done that (in most cases). As for the whole amateur aspect of the show, that's way off. Danny, from season 3, was a dancer with American Ballet Theater, one of the top companies in the world. Blake from season 1 had also danced for Britney Spears before getting on the show.

I will continue to watch the show. I LOVE Mandy Moore's choreography. I think her and Tice are the best ones.

First, I have to admit that i don't watch much television. I used to work for Company Dance and Starlight Productions before it was bought out by Varsity Inc.. Co. Dance and Starlight are Touring Dance Conventions and Workshops. They had/have falculty like Nick Florez, Chebar Williams, and beleive it or not Tyce Diorio. Diorio's choreography never ceases to amaze me. I am somewhat confussed by thier choices in dancers this season. I've seen several routines on tour, and quite honestly - several better than what i've seen on So You Think......so judges WAKE UP. I'm not saying that there aren't some amazing dancers this season, but why aren't they any better than what they are. Like they've said bla bla bla technical shit.....but your performance out shined your errors. Mary Murphy........who did that to your face with botox? ok im done

So this is my first time to actually is SYTYCD live on tv, in the past I could only watch the reruns that came on MTV, because I've been gone for the past for summers doing drum corp.

I luv the show, I do agree the last season was alot better than this season and the dancers were alot better last season as well... Although there are alot of good pieces such as Bleeding Love, No Air, ne thing by Mia Micheals, and the one pieces that Mandy Moore choreographed for Courtney and Gev...

Mia, Mandy, Tyce, Tabitha and Napoleon r my favorite choreographer and Mia Micheals can do whatever she wants with me
