What's there to do (sports/physical activity) in L.A.?

Ok so I live in this giant heap of a traffic nightmare called Los Angeles. So what's there to do that's gay and sporty? I hear there's lots of teams and get togethers, but I don't know the right people to figure out where to go. Here's what I'd be interested in:

-beach volley ball
-water volley ball
-dodge ball
-ultimate fisbee
-kick boxing
-martial arts
-bowling
-break dancing
-snow boarding (...in Winter)
-LASER TAG! (lol)
-anything else physically active that doesn't involve a bar/club...?

But I guess I could be conned into doing other sports too that I'm not thinking of.

Any suggestions welcome!

The traffic isn't THAT bad! If you're in a hurry just jump on any MAJOR side street and you'll be fine!

Seriously, all your beach stuff head to Manhattan/Redonodo/Huntington Beaches and there's a lot of pick up Volley Ball games which will lead you to find water V.Ball players, hell put an ad on Craigslist too! Snowboarding, Snow Summit is your closest; Bear Mtn also.

Um, I know you're a huge fan of LA and all, but the traffic isn't that bad? You need to share whatever it is you're smokin' because when it takes an hour to go ten miles, I define that as bad.

He's right, though, about the beaches. Also check out Outsports.com for local teams. There are (quite possibly) hundreds of gay softball teams around, plus soccer, flag football, ski clubs, sailing clubs, etc. Sadly, no golf group for me...but maybe I'll just have to start it myself.

Just google "gay groups organizations Los Angeles" and you're bound to find stuff.

Thanks guys for all the suggestions so far. I'll follow up on all the websites.

As for traffic, it may not be bad everywhere in LA. But as far as where I live and where I need to get to, let's put it this way: I save only 5 minutes by taking the car to the gym compared to if I walk there (not even running). Lame. I wouldn't be surprised if the people locked up in the psychiatric ward somehow were the ones in charge of Urban Planning for Los Angeles for the past 80 years.
