Alright, so is anybody else psyched that this year's DCI season is rolling? I'm going down to Columbus later today to see the Glassmen. I marched mello in '06, and still feel like I have a family with that corps.

Any other former DCI members?
Who are you excited to see this year?

Here's the show I marched in '06:

Never marched, but I was part of a gay colorguard group in Columbus. I went to a couple of shows at crew stadium and always had a great time watching. I live in San Diego now and miss spinning.

Wow. I haven't heard anyone mention DCI in almost 20 years. My band took second in the nation in the high school competition in '88 and then we got to see Phantom Regiment perform the next day. Good times. I wanted to get into DCI right after high school, but there weren't any corps within 300 miles of my home town.

Funny you should post about DCI, just talking about going to DCI West at Stanford July 5th. My wife use to march with the Blue Devils so we see them when we can.

I can't wait for finals. I'll actually be able to attend, considering they're a mere state away. The new dome in Indianapolis was actually designed with DCI in mind, so the acoustics should be phenomenal. (starts to drool a little) Not to mention, I have a friend who lives near Indie, so I won't have to rent a hotel room. Cha-ching!

eb925guy - I have a friend from college who is marching blue devil's this year. Can't wait to see what they have up their sleeves this year!

Awesome, I was about to post this topic myself since the season is seriously heating up and drum corps is pretty much my life these days, but I did a quick search and found out someone beat me to it.

I'm on the brass staff of a world class (formerly Div. I) corps here in Southern California so I'll definitely be in the thick of it on the road this Summer. If any of you guys are planning on attending any shows that Pacific Crest will be at definitely hit me up with a message and we should get in touch.

Also, our tour swings into the deep south, anyone from those states (We go from Dallas, to San Antonio, to Monroe, LA, to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, couple cities in Alabama, then up to Atlanta, two cities in Virginia then we're safely in the Northeast again haha). Anyone have any insight on any gay activities in those areas in the unlikely off-chance I get some free time to mingle?

And dharnan - two things, one of the other guys on our brass staff marched Soprano with the glassmen 97-2001 I believe... small world. And, I hate to be the one to burst your bubble, but the construction of the brand new stadium will not be complete in time for DCI so we're going to be in Bloomington, Indiana instead... they say good things about the new venue but I was looking forward to the new dome myself... however, nothing beats the RCA dome for over-the-top accoustics haha... I'm sure you played there in '06...

Anyway I'll stop myself because I could talk about drum corps for the rest of my life... sadly it's looking like I will...

I"ve always wanted to audition for a DCI band. I was going to Audition for the Blue knights, but I convinced myself I couldn't do it. I play trumpet and my high school marching band in texas is AMAZING. State every year! I also play trumpet very well. My talent payed for my schooling in fact.

I've seen DCI shows so many times, my fav is of course.. the cavaliers!

I was in marching band in high school, but that was it for me. I did get to the two-day DCI competition in Allentown, PA maybe 3-4 years ago. I was heading there to visit Dorney Park with a friend and the competition was the same weekend. So, we did both. I absolutely LOVED the competition and wished I had known about them in high school.

Congrats to all the present and former DCIers.
