Hey everyone, I was wondering if you guys could help with something. I am trying to select a primary care doctor, and would like for him or her to be gay friendly. It is hard to come out to the doctor I have now, since he just isn't too receptive to my needs as it is. I can just guess what will happen when I tell him that I am gay lol. SO, does anyone have any experience with finding a gay friendly doctor, or have any tips on how to come out to one and request all the test that gay men need to be done? Are there any websites that have a listing of these kind of doctors, and would the insurance company be able to tell me if they have gay friendly doctors. Thanks a lot for all of your help in advance.

I would give that link a try. You can search for doctors that are members of the Gay Lesbian Medical Association by zip code. It might give you a place to start at least.

Good luck.

If you lived in Melbourne Australia, One cold help. But this is not a service I use myself. My sexuality has never been an issue.

My primary care doctor is openly gay, extremely hot, and only a year older than me at 33. Put that aside, I will never go back to a straight doctor again. It's just far more comfortable for me to say to him, "when my partner shoves his big cock up my ass, it makes me feel...." He doesn't blink an eye and simply gives me solid medical advice!

Considering that you live in San Francisco, I seriously doubt you're going to have any problems finding a gay or gay-friendly doctor. Trust me, I live in DC and had no trouble finding one.

A couple of years after I moved from San Francisco to Vallejo, I left my job in the city and decided it was time to find a doctor at Kaiser in Vallejo. I went on their website and found a patient rep or patient advocate (I don't remember the exact title) and asked her to recommend a gay friendly primary physician. I think she emailed me three names and I picked one and had a great experience. I don't know if he was gay, but he was young, cute, sensitive to my needs, and it didn't matter.
