What an amazing day in California! Gay marriages will most likely start happening within 30 days.

Who's getting married?

I will entertain the idea of marriage when its federally legalized.

Eventually maybe. I'd love to be married as soon as it is recognized everywhere. What's the point of it if it's not. Take your vows, create some community property together is my way of thinking. As long as my partner and I get the same rights as every other couple in love, I'll be happy.

No good here, my partner isn't a US citizen. We need the Feds.

Well, as soon as I can get ahold of some chloroform, handcuffs and a ball-gag I'll select my husband and be on my way.

But how on earth's he supposed to say "I do" if he's gagged? Better to just bash his kneecaps so he can't run away, methinks.

All in due time... But.. the question is will it survive a petition to place it on a ballot and then will it survive a referendum?

Time will tell.

Nah, I never found him attractive even in his glory days. And, well, he's a--you know--Republican.

As if.

well my bf and i live in NYC, but i have a gay sister in cali so maybe she and her gf will do it. they've been together for 30 years and already have "official" status in massachusetts.

NY State was SUPPOSED to tackle gay marriage this year but that was before our asshole governor got caught with his pants down in a prostie scandal! jeez. now our state capital is looking a bit of reorganizing so gay marriage is pushed off the table... AGAIN!

good grief charlie brown,

congrats to the good people of california btw!

I am so happy about this ruling. And my BF no longer has any excuses about politics and legality, blah blah blah. I've asked him to marry me twice in the past and been given the "not until it's legal" excuse both times. Well... as of last night, after 11 years, he's agreed to marry me. Gotta love my adopted home state of California.

easily solved gentlemen. Wile E. Coyote signs. just stick a board with "I do" on a stick, and tie it to him.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but plenty of gay Texans have already gotten married...just to the opposite sex. Same as anywhere else, I suspect...

Congrats Jeff! Just be prepared - I was in your shoes and when we finally did the deed, I was the one that woke up the next morning and thought, "OMG, I'm REALLY stuck with him now....!" LOL!

Definitely. When it's the right guy and after talking it out and mutually agreeing what it all really means to the both of us I'm there hand in hand til death do us part! In the meantime I'm good for the role as best man, groomsman or whatever. Some straight women are gonna go freakin nuts with envy when they see the beautifully detailed weddings specifically gay men come up with. And I'm not talking about some stereo typical circus the media is going to suggest.

My partner and I were already married in a religious commitment ceremony in 1997, presided over by a minister from Metropolitan Community Church.
Because we are already married in the eyes of God, I didn't see a need for the state's imprimatur.
But my partner was so moved by the California Supreme Court's decision, that he now wants to get married in the eyes of the state, too.
So we will get married in October, on the anniversary of our 1997 commitment. We're both very excited about it!

I thought the entire point of being gay was to give guys an excuse for wanting to have anonymous sex with lots of hot dudes. Now you want to throw it all away with an overrated institution who is symbolized by a ball and chain? Do you know what happens to married people? They get fat and boring. Just look at your parents! Do you really want to end up like them
