thanks for the banter, but i won't be posting to the threads anymore. there are certain standards for intelligent conversation that aren't being met (repeatedly). i thought taking a break for a few weeks would put all this blogging into perspective, but that hasn't been the case. thank you to those of you who had something meaningful to say.

if you want to stay in touch with me, email me and i'll send you my private email address.

I thought the standard of debate on RJ was quite high. Can't you just ignore the threads you don't like?

Did I miss something again?
While I am curious about the "standards" that are not being met, aren't we all responsible for what we post and don't we all take away from the conversation and posts our own perspectives on the topics? Not trying to be a smartass, but there must be some other issue driving you away. We all pick and choose what we read and respond to.
DANCERJACK...please be well and come back if the time is right for you. We'll leave the light on for you until you come home......

Dancer, please give some thought and reconsider your decision. I've always enjoyed your input. You've taken the time to show concern when many here don't.
You will certainly be missed.

His departure might have something to do with the non-sensical, off-topic banter about ketchup, paper-clips, and inside jokes than seem to infest every other thread. He's dropped hints numerous times?

That's just code to avoid calling anybody out. But you've seen the pattern. Somebody starts an interesting thread. Others respond by posting pictures of unrelated cartoons and other common everyday objects. Then the off-topic one-liners and inside jokes begin. Get the signal Lester Prince refrigerator bucket map, I see. For tree twenty seven nipples and butterflies...

I pretty much agree with DancerJack and BabiGayPimp about serious threads taking off in unrelated and relatively silly directions.

As a relative newcomer, though, I'm still willing to hang and see if there aren't better forums for serious (not meaning grave, but "worthwhile") discussions.

Sorry but this seems to One, this is nothing more than an attension seeking fishing trip..

I don't see why people need to make such announcement.. If One was to leave. One is able too contact my friends here, and let them know in private, and not have to make it a public announcement.

But One sees you are still here. So it cements Ones thought it was nothing more than an attension seeking adventure, by a drama queen. A petulant child.

Since you have attacked One a number of times, for not thinking with in your square. I am sure you will be able to take this like a man DJ.

You know if you don't like a thread. You don't have to watch, or look. But you do, and your input is less than constructive, or intelligent.

If people complained about Queer as Folk. I'm sure you would be the first to demand them to change the channel.

Kind of hard to email him for his private email if he cancelled his account right way. Doesn't take a genius to figure that one out, but apparently it takes more than half a brain.

As much as it pains me to say this, I kinda agree with Pattison.

Shawn, this is his second time doing this. I think all his buddy's would have his email from the last time. Don't you think?

Anyway, he just said he is not posting anymore. I don't believe him though Watch this space

He went away, thought it was a mistake to leave, came back and realized it wasn't, now he's off again.

Everyone makes a big deal when some one leaves without announcing it, now it's a big deal when they do?

You've got to be kidding....this seems like needless drama to create a post about quitting posting. Is there a message to send out to all those who make funny comments or take the thread down a different path?

You have been involved in many good posts and have written some great things.

Many of the more serious threads are splattered with lesser remarks, and I have to say many of them are in fact quiet humorus and at worst..harmless and easily ignored.

This, and all such sites should be seen as a socializing, entertaining venue (for fun!) and for anyone to take it (them) so seriously is in for a big letdown. There are thousands of people on here, each with distinct view points and something to say. Its no different in real life, like at a dinner party where 12 people are all trying to get their opinion out, or try to be funny or act "cute".

Forget you said that and since its such a touchy issue with you, just be selective in your posting and dont worry if there are silly people on here...because I have enjoyed many of the things you have written and I hope to see you in some of the frays again.

Its much easier to ignore a bitchy or silly post or response than to get upset over it.

Hey, I'm not making a big deal out of it. I like it when guys let us know that they are going to leave, but Jack did not say he was leaving. Just not posting. I really do think this is just for attention. Not saying that is bad or anything.

I know your mind is set already, but.. yeah the others got it right. If you don't like the thread or the poster then ignore it/them. There are hijackings going on (and I'm guilty for some of that), but they usually revert to the topic after a few more posts.

I know I'm only a genius and all that ;) , but hey, this isn't GLBT central or something. Of course the conversations will not always be intelligent, and the way threads get derailed is only a measure of how most of us already know how the others think.

But why are you taking it all so seriously? The way I see it, it's often the only way to defuse potential flame wars. A little bit of the silly don't hurt nobody.

Without the lolcats, it'll be flame war after flame war here. And dammit, RJ would be boring as hell if we were all PC and only posted rationally, wouldn't it?

And inside jokes aren't exclusionary. Anyone can jump in. Blah. It's not like the regulars are aristocrats or something. It's just that we've been here long enough to know each other well enough already.

Why do I feel guilty and like I have to apologize for being a tad bit insane like a lot of people here?

I don't like that feeling at all.
