Anyone else wanted to hit on their doctor during an exam???

I knew when I selected him as my primary care physician that it might lead to trouble!

My doc is really cute, and I have only had occasion to see him twice so it was okay. The first time was about a shoulder injury and an unrelated prescription refill. This time I had to see him about something where I needed to "drop trou" so he could take a look. I almost got hard while he was examining me. And even though he was totally professional about it all, I was kinda getting that feeling from him that he could stay down there as long as I would have allowed him to.

As I was leaving he gave me a long and lingering look... you know the type. The look that means "I really wish I could do more for you". But I'm sure his professional ethics override was stopping him.

Part of me wants to call and leave a message to have him call me... and then lay it out there. But if I do, the patient-doctor relationship is pretty much over.
Has anyone else had this predicament before???

When I pick my DR, I essentially "interview" them from a list of written questions. I ask them a variety of questions and they include very direct questions about their attitudes toward gay issues and some "more personal" questions. One of those questions is "how would you handle giving an exam to someone that finds you "attractive" or "sexy" enough that they or you experience an errection or other physical reactions? I have my questions written out and with me when I walk in. All DR's have a "professional ethic", but I have declined services from some Dr's based on their answers or unwillingness to answer. I have had more female Dr's than male and it just isn't a issue. The last thing I want to worry about when I NEED to see my Dr. is the added complication of "rules of engagement" for dating and attraction. There are enough "filters and barriers" to clear communication with your MD, if this is a real issue, get a new DR and then ask him out!
Good Luck!

No, my doctor is far too important to my health to jeopardize the relationship by hitting on him! Doctors that specialize in HIV patients are in short supply in Toronto.

Also both my doctor and myself are in long-term relationships.

If a doctor hits on a patient he or she could be suspended or lose their license if the patient complains.

No, but I had a young dental student working on me who I thought was cute. He let me take his picture.

Being on the opposite side of that coin I can tell you that sometimes Dr's can be tempted too
....but it's not very ethical and in some states constitutes sexual harassment

Nope. Not even a little bit. But he is the best. I actually left my old doctor of 5+ years for him.

Most of my doctors have been way older, and soo not my type, so generally not a problem. i did have one once that was very attractive, but being nervous helped in the fact that i didn't get hard during the exam. I wanted to hit on him, but refrained out of respect.

I get a complete annual physical and a new MD has joined forces with my regular doc. The new doc is young, hunky, and very cute....but married. When he had me up on the table - doggy style for the prostate exam, I got hard as steel, and when he went in, I started to drip pre-cum. I was embarassed and apologized. He made little of it, but I'll never forget the look in his eyes - and his stare - lips slightly parted. His slacks were hi-draped and I couldn't see if he was aroused. His eyes though, spoke volumes! Nothing happened - the doc was totally professional - unfortunately!

I have a gay doctor, but fortunately he's not my type.

However, a few years ago, I recall when I was about to go into surgery, blatantly flirting with the anesthesiologist.

Coming from the doctor side of this one I can tell you that there have been times when I've mentally cursed the bad luck to have a great looking guy as my patient, knowing ethics preclude any personal advances. I'm an ER doc, though, so usually my patients aren't feeling their best and after the initial double take it's easy to slip back into doctor mode and just do my best to make them feel better. (OK, no innuendo here, guys! )

A few years ago I had to go to a referred Doctor for a back problem.
I was shocked when he came to examine me; He was a 11 on my personal 1-10 scale! He was an American born Chinese guy who plays Tennis and is cute, charming and professional all at the same time.
I admit to getting hard when he was touching me and the god news is.... I ran into him on the net and we DID date for a time before he moved to Europe for a research job,

my best friend lives in nyc. he has a dermatologist who, at every visit, makes him strip down to his underwear. SERIOUSLY! i've asked my friend if he's ever questioned the doctor as to why, but my friend is afraid of 'insulting' him. we all think it's hysterical and you can only imagine the jokes we make...

Hmmmm, a dermatologist asking that he be able to actually see his patient's skin. What a novel idea.

he told us he only goes in for his face. i guess as a doctor you would find little humor in that.

He was not really my doctor.... nor was he A doctor, but once, when I had to go to the emergency room for a particularly bad pain in my scrotum, the tech who examined me with the ultrasound machine was GORGEOUS! Man, talk about a time I wished I was getting that examination under better circumstances.

Hey nicensmoothla sorry if I came off as being flip or critical of your post. I actually meant that it's a good thing for a dermatologist to ask to see all of his patient's skin---too many people have significant lesions missed because there are heaps of dermatologists out there who have to be hit over the head with a crowbar in order to get them to do a thorough exam. Living in the high desert I'd kill to find a derm guy who would do what he's supposed to do.

Think about it from the perspective of the doc...a good friend of mine who happens to be great looking and a doctor said that it's not all that unusual for guys to start standing at attention during an exam or physical...and as someone said earlier he worries about what ethical charges might be brought even though he just tries to ignore it happening...

no worries. i should have realized that was a 'you had to be there' story...not as funny out of context.

if you should ever make it to new york, i'll get you the name of his dermatologist. ;)

It's really not ethical...
but it works in porn and soap operas

I get a kick when guys ... Um... lose their train of thought during a history and physical
