I am not sure what the question is. Do you mean is a 2 hour gym session too long? If so, yes. Also, after 2 months, it's time to switch your routine. Change your bodypart exercises. Try some different bodypart combinations. Or try some high intensity training. Or .... you get the idea. Your body needs to be surprised.

The norm is 60min workouts as lactic acid gets into the body after 60mins and the workout will have less effect.

If you do 2 bodyparts per session than it is to much as you also should take 4 days in between bodyparts work outs for recovery. Otherwise you are defeating the purpose.

IE: Chest / tri monday should not be repeated until friday

What are your expectations and what do you want to achieve?

2 hrs is normal. It took me 1 1/2 hr. or 2 hrs. just to do two part of my body. So it isn't long at all.

I don't think it is to long. I spend an hour and a half to two hours in the gym when I work out two body parts and I do that 4 days per week with my 5th day being cardio and abs. Then two rest days. I have been doing that for months and I am still getting gains. But the two rest days are essential and need to be back to back for recovery. Some will argue that these workout days should be split but this has worked best for me. I have found I don't recover as well overall if the off days are not back to back.

I would say it depends on your training philosophy. Seeing as I follow Mike Mentzer's HIT training, my longest workout is my chest/back/shoulders that last me 45 minutes on a slow day. I'm usually out of the gym within 20 to 30 minutes.

In 6 weeks, I have lost 2.5 lbs of fat and gained 5 lbs of muscle.

Uncover your goals and philosophical standpoint on exercise. Everyone's got their own approach. Exercise is faith! *smiles

what if you do cardio after your workout? Should the whole workout, lifting+cardio, be less than an hour, or should you take a break in between or is it alright to just go straight through?

i keep wondering if i should take a break between my lifting and cardio to get a protean shake of if I should wait till the end.
