CAFFEINE IS GOOD FOR YOU!!! (see article below) We use it for work out, for work, for pleasure, etc .. But this morning as I drink my caffeine before work, I ponder the benefits attributed to drinks like coffee and tea and even energy drinks. I know there used to be a lot of hooey about how bad caffeine was for you so I am always glad when yet another benefit of caffeine is discovered.

Here it is even called a "safe drug" in protecting your brain ..

What kind of caffeine do you drink? Energy drinks? Why do you drink it?

Wasn't really into coffee until I was a Barista several years ago. I learned to enjoy it moreso that ever. I tend to be a very hot-natured guy, and living in Florida doesn't help. Drinking coffee in the mornings always seemed to make me sweat and get hot, so I got my caffeine fix through diet sodas (and still do to some degree.) But I began to LOVE espresso drinks (having 2-4 a shift was the 'norm' for those of us behind the counter. Can you say BUZZED?! )

So, we bought an espresso maker and steamer and probably have espresso 3-4 mornings a week, particularly on the weekend. (With steamed soy milk. YUM!)

Regular ol' joe? Could take it or leave it. Unless I'm at the bottom of the ski slope or someplace cold!

Yeah I don't like that taste of coffee, but drink lots of tea (iced and hot). I don't drink much soda either but will have an energy drink every once and a while. I like the little cans of AMP (from the makers of mountain dew). Its one of the few that I really actually feel a little boost from.

I like AMP. I'm not big on the energy drinks, but Arizona Tea makes a nice energy drink made from green tea that is really good. Comes in several flavors like Peach and Pomegranate.

I used to drink coffee, but it took too much time.

Now I just take it all day in an IV drip.

I used to think coffee was gross, I couldn't even comprehend why people drank it. Then slowly but surely I started to "put up with it" when i needed an energy boost. Now I NEED coffee. And now that it is "Roll up the rim to win" season at Tim Horton's my life is all that much better. I already have plans for what I will do when I win my boat.

OMG...

I get to enjoy the fine Turkish coffee's in the Balkans! A bit chewy at times.

I really do have it good: La Cimbali four puck espresso machine, two french presses, and all the coffee that is donated by our own RELAX5 here on RJ!

I love Sam... he makes me tingly with caffine!

I have a Pepsi with my breakfast. I know, I know... high fructose corn syrup. I wish there was a cola softdrink made with real sugar that has caffeine. I would buy it. I would also buy a cola softdrink if there was one sweetened with Stevia instead of artificial sweeteners.

Here you go:

What makes us unique? Besides being the oldest Dr Pepper bottler in the world, Dublin Dr Pepper also has the distinction of being bottled with Imperial Pure Cane Sugar - the original Dr Pepper formula.

As Homer Simpson: "Mmmmmmm Imperial Pure Cane Sugar...."

That sounds yummy...

But I do enjoy a cup of java in the morning: no sugar with some either half and half, or vanilla soy milk. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.......

I enjoy a cup of black coffee every now and again, depending on what kind of coffee it is. Best I ever had was a bean that was grown in Ethiopia and it had this naturally sweet and nutty taste to it.

And I know what you're thinking, because I'm thinking it too. Gee....what else has a sweet and nutty taste in my mouth? I wonder what that could be?

Hey, Bear321! I think I have your product (and this one is made in USA, so may be easier to get than the DrPepper above.)

If you can find a vendor who sells Jones Soda, they are all cane sugar and they have a caffeinated Cola now. The site has a store locator, too. I can find it at places like World Market and some coffee shops. Or you can order online. It's really great stuff.

The Dublin Dr Pepper above is actually made in Dublin TEXAS, a location firmly located within the continental USA. Sorry for any confusion.

Also Boylan's which is a new york area thing, uses cane sugar. The black cherry is amazing

i thought Jone's used HFCS, looked at their site and they did and just made the change to cane sugar middle of 2007, so check your bottle before you buy. although most of the old stock should be gone soon

Or also in the NY area right now they have passover coke-a-cola. it comes in 2 liters only and has the yellow cap, made with sugar and not HFCS. but you can get it at the regular grocery.

most of these are available mail order if you can't find them locally. quick Google turned up http://www.sodapopstop.com/home.cfm
but shipping charges can be a nightmare.

and yeah, Dublin, Texas is the home of Dr. Pepper. which is why they make the sugar version there. I travel to Dallas occasionally and enjoy the Dublin DP.

I'll just be happy tomorrow afternoon, having some minor medical tests done and no caffeine for 2 days. I'm getting a little cranky now, tomorrow should be fun- up early, no food and no caffeine.

I have coffee every morning when I get up; I get the coffee maker ready the night before, and it's set on a timer, so it's ready as soon as my alarm goes off. Ah...

That's about it for caffeine; it's all first thing in the morning. I drink tea too, but it's almost all decaf/herbal. Otherwise, I drink water...that's it.

I have no idea if coffee is good for me or not. However, I do know it is good for whomever has to speak to me in the morning.
