Well? I have this friend who goes to the gym alot, and doesn't ddrink alcohol and stuff like that... basically has a good diet with his training. The weird thing though is that he also likes to go to McDonald's when out with friends, say maybe once a fortnight, and he STILL remains in great shape, no fat anywhere. In fact he said that it somehow helps put on the muscle. Is this really possible? Can McDonald's actually help?

Or at least can Pizza Hut help? I LOVE Pizza Hut!

Possibly? I guess it could. Underneath all that sugar and fat you still have protein. I don't think a little deviation from a strict healthy diet will undo all that hard work. There are also some marginally healthy foods at mcdonald's, and your friend may be ordering them when he's there. Eating most foods offered by mcdonalds probably won't help you get muscled up to the extent of helping you get a lower life expectancy, but not if its just once every now or then.

While not the best for you, it's still calories... if he's eating healthy and nailing the gym regularly I doubt it would hurt his body.

Back to the question.... If you're trying to bulk up you'd be better taking the $6 you'd spend on a meal there and grab some chicken breast.

Breaking your diet once in a while is good. Plan that stuff into your diet. You're going to end up eating it either way.

For a good old' fashion cheat day, I recommend the book "Eat This, Not That" from Men's Health Mag.

Its good for pointing you in the right direction at 100's of US eateries.

Classic Grilled Chicken Sandwhich (No Mayo)
Side Salad w/ Light Italian Dressing
Diet Coke or Light Lemondade

Not exactly the meal of champions, but it's gotten me through many of times where I've practically got a gun to my head to eat at McDonalds (i.e. Airports)

Honestly, once a fortnight won't kill you.

Hey, Chucky used to advise everyone to "hit the buffet". Those calories alone make McDonald's look like the purveyors of yogurt and celery stalks.

The Asian salad with Paul Newman ginger soy is awesome. Look at me: only three heart-attacks and I'm still going strong.

I'm not saying he eats McDonald's once in a while, I meant he goes regularly, after gym or football with his friends...

When your very young and very active, burning off the extra fat you get at McD's is fairly easy. The issue is the health aspect of it.
